the oddball film within the franchise, contributing nothing to the michael myers and being the only standalone film within the entirety.
with that all being said, it still manages to be one of the best of the series (showing how the halloween franchise is probably one of the weaker horror legacy franchises) but throughout, i kinda just showed indifference to this films existence. the plot is easily the best most thought out of the franchise, kinda going away from slasher cliches but still being a slasher. a corporate halloween company uses kids to perform a celtic ritual (killing millions of people) the atmosphere is distinctly cold, and the heavy synths really create an unsettling mood. it shows the over commercialisation of american society, and how cheap halloween decorations allow a cruel pagan ritual. it’s feels a little unnecessary and sometimes underwhelming, with a nonsensical plot and meh protagonist. halloween iii is definitely in the top half of the franchise (i mean it’s not very hard to accomplish considering how many bad films consist of the series)
