This may be a fairly implausible plot, but good god the story is weaved so wonderfully. Extremely well written and thought out, and beautifully executed for such a difficult premise to pull off.

I love when climaxes speak for themselves, I wasn't as taken aback by the ending because at the end none of the characters had any link between one another but it's still a soothing film to watch

After sleeping on this I feel just as strongly about it as I did while watching, this is one of the best movies of 2025 that way more people need to know about and see. This importantly serves as first experience with this area of the world in cinema and it rocked my world with some of the best looking cinematography I’ve ever seen, a touching, well written familial drama with a great twist, and a phenomenal score composed by Mujeeb Majeed, I didn’t have any expectations going into my first Malayalam film so it’s safe to say I didn’t expect technical perfection to this level, I’m certainly not complaining though. Bahul Ramesh’s beautiful, sweeping, almost storybook-like cinematography is brought out perfectly in both the tense and emotional moments by Majeed’s score and the impressive sound design. The cinematography and unique shot framing, score, sound design, and writing all work together flawlessly to create this blissful and lighthearted tone that manages to persist even through the darker turns of the story. In terms of the acting it’s clearly Sandeep Pradeep who standouts out with his quietly powerful and nuanced performance, next to him I enjoyed Biana Momin’s performance the most. Similarly to a film I just rewatched, Train Dreams, the artistic team here mastered the ability to make green look as stunning as possible on screen with the many fleeting landscape shots that interrupt the story’s progression being some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, they add a lot to this gorgeous atmosphere which you can’t help but sink into and fall in love with. A rewatch, which will be happening soon, will allow me to speak more to the brilliance of the story which I loved but could use more clarity on, for now it still enters my top 5 of 2025 as it’s near perfectly made film across the board and I can’t wait to see what else Dinjith Ayyathan has made and will make in the future.
