One Day as a Lion (2023) - ★☆☆☆☆
Honestly, I was really looking forward to "One Day as a Lion," but it totally missed the mark. The premise had potential—a mix of comedy and drama—yet the execution fell flat.
The plot felt disjointed and rushed, and the characters lacked depth and relatability. I found myself struggling to connect with the lead, who seemed more like a caricature than a real person. The pacing dragged in parts, and I felt like I was just waiting for something interesting to happen.
The humor didn’t land for me, either. The jokes often felt forced, and many key scenes just didn’t deliver the laughs I hoped for. Even with a talented cast, the material seemed weak, leaving them little to work with.
Visually, it wasn’t bad, but stunning cinematography can’t save a weak script. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity, making it hard to recommend. I left the theater feeling disappointed, wishing I could get that time back.
