Hunger started off with a lot of steam, but by the middle of the second act the plot was losing me. The best way to describe it is a mix between Whiplash and The Menu, but worse than both of them. I will say that the acting on the whole was pretty good, and I liked the visuals, but the main weakness was the writing. I love a film about food, so I'm a little bit biased towards liking this, but nevertheless it's not as great as I was expecting considering the Rotten Tomatoes score it got.

the tension was intensified but halfway thru, seemed to lose its point. could have been better if the writer gave paul some character development. they should have highlighted what’s the characters trying to prove—is love the main ingredient in cooking or hunger? also the political topic, it seems lacking to me. what’s the main point? however, the cinematography was fire 🔥
