This film relies on known quantities to decent effect - lovely Susan Sarandon ❤️, heavy-accented Tommy Lee Jones, and twisty John Grisham. The fresh factor is Brad Renfro as the kid client in question, who’s never less than convincing. It only slightly stretches plausibility, keeps the plot moving, and thankfully spends minimal time in court. The let down is in the formulaic action/thriller set pieces and the cartoonish gangster villain.
