Can’t lean on luck for every outcome… The Cooler is the story of William H Macy’s character repaying his debts by being so unlucky he stops people from winning money at the casino. The plot consists of pretty well paced action, with a noticable climax, built by a solid rising point where bad luck led to good things, followed by a falling action of good luck leading to bad thing. The film explores themes of love of even the most undesirable, friendship, and violence. Unlike most people I thought the acting wasn’t all that great, with William H Macy leading the way providing an underwhelming performance to say the least. I love the man, it just wasn’t his film. Overall it is a 6/10 it was a nice late night watch, but was limited on parts of script-writing and cinematography that it was just an alright movie, wouldn’t recommend
