So nice how sympathetic this is to women's pain (which should be expected of a woman director/writer but still!! it's so refreshing to watch something that treats women like people for once) Watching Jenna's interactions with her husband is so incredibly heartbreaking, there's too many of those kinds of abusive, controlling dickheads out there treating their wife like she's an object to be owned and not a person -_- Wow the line about "What if you decide to love the baby more than you love me" that's some shit both of my parents have said before and they never loved me or each other #traumadumping. All of the men in this movie are horrendous and all of the women also suck for the most part (except for Becky) which I guess is realistic.
I don't understand why she carried a child to term when she's stuck with an abusive husband while also feeling nothing for the baby inside of her and openly viewing it as a "parasite and an alien." Abortions are completely fine. She said herself that not everyone's meant to be a mother, certainly doesn't believe that she is. So why keep it? I get that in the end she loved her baby (after birth) but a reluctant pregnancy just shouldn't be something anyone should endure imo. TBH watching this movie sprouted up a lot of negative feelings in me so I guess it's a good one?
