Because The First Omen just got added to streaming and it has been getting pretty good reviews, I decided to watch the Omen sequels and the remake starting with Damien: The Omen II.
I liked the first film more. I think it was creepier, more suspenseful, and had better acting. What I'll say about the sequel is that I enjoyed the story a bit more even if it is very similar to the first. Without spoiling anything, Damien's progression is the best part of this film. The other characters around him are better developed which makes for some fun interactions. I can easily see Omen II being someone's favorite in the series.

the sequel to the 1976 horror classic - and it’s still an alright movie, but just doesn’t seem to recapture what made the original omen so effective. it somehow feels a lot sillier but also a lot less entertaining than the creepy prior film, which had many iconic moments. here, the main thing going for it is the kills - with the elevator and also the crow scenes - probably gorier and maybe even more creative death sequences. the change from dogs to crows could’ve been done a lot better, but i felt the crows were heavily underutilised throughout. i like how its a continuation of the life of damien - the snowy setting is cool, and the first act is quite good, but unfortunately it just felt slow-paced and even dull in some areas
