really enjoyed. not quite as tight as its remake and suffers from a lot of the trappings of '50s horror (what was the vegetable-based alien obsession?) but fun nonetheless. got some laughs! really, really love the scene in the barracks; the quick turning out of the lamps, the geiger counter as this solitary, blinking light source, and then BOOM! in comes this big silhouette of the monster. lovely. first film in the iu cinema!

Pretty decent, but I don't know how the fuck the casting director expected me to tell anyone apart when they all look and sound the same... I just know they all had blond hair and blue eyes and the film isn't even in colour.

It was pretty good for a mid-20th century horror film, it just didn’t keep me completely hooked and wasn’t really scary.

I actually haven't seen John Carpenter's The Thing so I had nothing to compare this to. That being said I thought this was entertaining, the film was paced well and went by very quickly. The music was a little much at times and I wish there was more scenes with the creature (despite the design and special effects not being great).
