Way way too twisty for its own good, this was solid, nuts-and-bolts suspenseful sub-Clouzot fun until it decided to take itself way too goddamn seriously. The ending seriously stretched credulity, as is often the case with fare such as this is. I loved the Kristin Scott Thomas role, however, and the score was fire, so there's that.

A perfectly crafted murder thriller with a lot of deep emotion and many very compelling moments. I wasn’t expecting such a profound and emotional film to be honest, the acting was terrific and the story (from Harlen Coben) was brilliantly intricate. I really enjoyed this one, all the twists and turns were so well written and how the story ended was really magnificent, I love when a mysterious tale all falls into satisfying place. The writing was so good at giving hints and ideas so that the audience could try and piece together the complex puzzle, it was all superbly paced as well which helped with the impactful moments and revelations. François Cluzet’s performance was fantastic, very emotionally powerful and really convincing. That With Or Without You scene was absolutely phenomenal, I don’t even like U2 but it was so good. I’m not sure if there’s much else to say, I can’t think of anything else other than that I very much enjoyed that film!
