Martha Horgan is a withdrawn, mentally disabled woman who lives with her aunt, Frances. One of Martha's unusual traits is that she doesn't lie, a quality that leads to her getting fired from a dry-cleaning shop thanks to the actions of the shifty Getso. Conflict seems to follow Martha, since she also becomes romantically involved with local fix-it man, Mackey, who is sleeping with Frances as well.

A Dangerous Woman
This is another film that was on my “autistic representation in film” list. The character in this film isn’t confirmed if she’s autistic, but she definitely has some autistic tendencies. I honestly don’t have an opinion whether Debra Winger’s performance is offensive or not. But I could definitely tell that she wanted to win an Oscar. In my opinion, her performance is mid.

Was all that sex really necessary?
