This is a burnt orange and baby blue, DIY, post-apocalyptic drama that shows what you can do with a low budget, a bunch of dedicated set designers, a micro fx team, and a cast of three, non-traditional film actors (one a cabaret performer, one a surrealist stage actor, & one a musician).
It’s weird, but in a very intricate & particular ways, it’s captivating, but very, very deliberately paced, and, even if you are already into Ozploitation, I’d guess you’ve still not seen everything here.
The Umbrella Blu-ray looks amazing (the film restoration is beautiful) and, of special note, is the fascinating bonus feature interview with actor Michael Lake—I wanna take that guy out for a drink.
