I remember getting a really sick feeling when i first read about how the Israeli government and settler groups use Hillel to spread Zionism and further subjugate Palestinians, so it was grimly interesting to get a first hand perspective of the ways that Zionism can become a casually-integral part to Jewish American life.
It was shocking seeing how a Jewish Woman who grew up going to day school, went on birthright, joined Hillel, and even stopped a BDS bill on her campus can be slandered and lose her job (on the Bernie campaign) for the most surface-level criticism of Netanyahu, all in the name of stopping antisemitism.
Truly radicalizing subject matter. As always, Free Palestine 🇵🇸.
