So incredibly my shit. Wry and witty while menacing and dark. Greenaway seems to really thrive in that lane.
I got a little bogged down at the end with dialogue but still had me gripped to see where things were leading. Loved the dialogue in general, loved the costuming, the moral ambiguity, the mystery of it all.
Beautiful visual language too. So many shots reminded me of Caravaggio paintings with seemingly natural lighting and plays with lighting in both interiors and exteriors in such a fun way.
Also just kinda freaky and weird, which was awesome!
