am i too late to review this or not? anyways so
my background: i’m usually not scared of horrors and i can say i even enjoy some of good quality ones. but it’s not my favourite type of films.
moreover i kinda don’t like movies inspired by older ones or what’s even worse for me is remakes and sequels. so watching IKWYDlS 2025 was… compromising at the beginning.
in the end i’m giving this movie 4/5 (8.8 was scored by Flick)
obvious pros of this movie is great way of connecting the stories of prequel and this exact picture. i freaking love this type of storytelling so i really enjoyed it. of course i loved the plot twist because well I THOUGHT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH CHARLIE. and when her prime was hear i got such a Mikey Madison Scream type of vibes i was squeaking. really great plot twist in my opinion and i’m glad girls are still with us.
as i said before, characters seemed kinda plastic in the beginning, but after 1/4 of the movie i started feeling sympathy towards some of them. 3/4 and i started loving them all with their unique way (except for guys…)
sometimes i felt a little cringey, but it was easy to handle. i’m not a native english speaker (i think it’s kinda obvious) but i had a great time following the characters conversations. this is what lacks in any russian movie - they just don’t understand how young people work and talk. maybe you guys get this cringey vibes when you hear those characters talk but for me it felt pretty natural.
i didn’t expect it to be scary and it wasn’t. i guess it could be a great disadvantage for someone, but for me it was ok. my own rule - don’t except anything from a slasher.
to sum up. would i recommend this movie? yes, because this is an easy movie. would i personally watch it again? no
