Creative, bloody, and brutally Southern-style kills. Sadly, that’s the only thing this movie offers

Robert Englund brings his Freddy humor to this role. An over the top southern horror with some great gore and hilarious moments.

“It’s Ricky on a sticky!!!!”
There are no words to describe how much I loved this trashy and stupid film. Straight to my top 4. So gleefully over-the-top and commits fully to the kitsch of it all. I adore the colour palette and cinematography - really has that grindhouse aesthetic of the early/mid 2000s remake wave. The villains are so funny and honestly charming, especially with the southern accents. My favourite villain has to be Peaches. Like she was really that bitch and she knew. I also really love the political satire underneath all the camp and blood, with the inclusion of a gay character and the racism didn’t feel gratuitous (learn from this, Quentin Tarantino). We love a left wing slasher don’t we. My absolute favourite thing though, is the crazy ass sexualized violence towards the men. Idk, is that a bad thing to say?😭😭 some guy gets a stick rammed up his ass and out his mouth, and another gets his dick chewed off. Just amazing. Makes soooo much sense that a gay man directed this.
