With the amount of car accidents Miles Teller gets into we need to revoke his license at this point.

hmmm...some REALLY sloppy editing and i found it a little hard to connect to, didn't quite move me in the way i think it intended to but nicole kidman's performance is career best for her she definitely makes it worth watching

Apparently, this play is essential reading in my theatre department. While it isn't too great to watch a film adaptation first, I don't care right now.Even though I haven't read the play yet, I'm going to assume that it could play better on stage, but that isn't me demeaning this movie too much because there were pretty great scenes. The screenplay is awesome, but I was disappointed that John Cameron Mitchell's direction was subpar. John Cameron Mitchell has made four movies, and I've liked all of them, but his efforts like Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Shortbus are bursting with personality. Even How to Talk to Girls at Parties had a specific style. If it wasn't for the fantastic acting across the board and the great screenplay, this movie wouldn't be as memorable, thanks to that direction (I still love you, though, JCM). Nicole Kidman steals a ton of the scenes, but Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller shine in their respective scenes. The dynamics were interesting, and the dialogue itself was fantastic. Pretty good movie, probably closer to a 4 than a 3, but I wish there was more to sink my teeth into artistically because you could just go to a theatre doing a production of this and probably get a similar effect (I could just be bitching though).
