I so desperately want to love the Adams Family's work, but I just can't. On paper, I should love it. They look great, sound great, and have interesting premises. They fall sorta into the folk horror aesthetics that I love. Unfortunately, to me, the atmosphere takes center stage while the story development falls to the background. The worlds they are building are so rich and strong, but move too slow for my liking. I wish they were more focused on the story and escalating it.
I do still enjoy these movies, but I just know there's another level to these that is missing for me and I really want to see it. They have plenty of other movies, though, so I'm sure I'll find one I love
