When I was applying to USC, I went to a Didi screening where Sean Wang listed all of his favorite directors. I had the opportunity to talk to him afterwards and **I told him that in that moment, he’s become one of MY favorites.

I was struggling with my application and I asked him for advice. He told me to stay true to myself and trust my instincts… fast forward 2 years later, I find out that HE went to USC… I didn’t even know this when I talked to him…
I really just wanted him to know that he’s already had a huge impact on me (so early in his career!) and I changed my application to be truer to myself and I credit our small 2 minute interaction for my acceptance
Anyway, I can’t wait to make my own films like this… Mom, Dad, I’m gonna be Sean Wang when I grow up!
