This film went from comedic debauchery to straight tragedy, and it was excellent. Geoffrey Rush as the Marquis de Sade was perfect as was Joaquin Phoenix as the Abbé. The cinematography was gorgeous and I loved the cold colour palette paired with blurred and airy visuals. The costuming was also great; all in all Quills is an evocative watching experience.
