Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism
I really don't understand the reviews for this they discredit this film wayyyy too much, i absolutely loved this in a world full of exorcist films where god saved the day how about one that actually sheds light on religious psychosis and unsanctioned exorcisms !!

never thought i could watch an “exorcism” movie that could be groundbreaking again. this is a must watch for every horror fan. this film has a strong story to tell and it doesn’t hold back at all.

Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism
Okay, so I went into this movie expecting nothing, because exorcism, demonic possession, and religion are represented in the horror genre so much that they become a bit repetitive. I'm not a religious person, so in general, I already have my personal thoughts on anything related to God, demons, Satan, etc.

But this movie shows exactly what I wanted to see: exorcism finally being seen as something negative, cruel, and just bigoted. And the entire congregation being just a bunch of brainwashed people who would excuse a murderer just because "God made him do it!" And their beliefs are more important than anything and anyone else.

Aside from religion, it was terrifying how they represented a controlling and abusive husband being perceived as a caring and loving man, and not only by the people around them, but he sees himself that way too, and even after they murdered her, he believes that it was the right thing and he did it for her.
