Perhaps watching this back to back with the original was a mistake. Just having that fresh on my mind made me really tell how hard they were not even trying here! Subtle scares the 2004 movie did were attempted to be amped up but instead of a scream I did a unsatisfied groan with an eye roll instead. And even with its lame attempts at scares, it still felt very dull, quite the accomplishment! The presentation, cinematography, pacing, it was all off! This was so obviously rushed in production that you feel the lack of fucks given, even from the actors!
I do like the 2002 Ring but man that movie’s success along with the 2004 Grudge sent the wrong message to the studios!
