This is the peak of all of film. Nothing has come close, or will come close, to being half as good as this movie. Way better than any of that MCU slop we get nowadays. It bends the genres of Romance, thriller, action, superhero, and comedy. The opening scene completely hooked me in, and I knew it was going to be peak. The way the bulk lets that poor woman die just to kill the mugger sets the tone… this is NOT your average superhero movie. Hank and Hannah’s romance was one of the most beautiful and heartwarming I have ever seen. The way they throw in Captain Darwin as an antagonist, along with Hannah’s dad, shakes things up in such a splendid way. The stakes gradually raise and raise with Hank trying to get Darwin's blessing to marry Hannah and Darwin telling him that he has to finish the research on the serum. The action scenes are electric; you truly never know what is to come. Dr. Werner von Kantlove is one of the scariest villains of all time. The way he just sends nukes everywhere shows he is not someone to mess with. When Hank loses the wedding ring to the mugger, the whole opening scene clicks, and you know where this is leading. The side plot with the detectives was heartbreaking; you feel Det. Ray Garton’s pain and grief for Det. Lisa Tuttle, who was killed by Bulk. Even though Hank couldn’t control his actions, you hate a part of him for killing Det. Lisa Tuttle. You partially want Det. Ray Garton to shoot him in that jail cell scene. Hank working for the government to help take down Dr. Werner von Kantlove is what is expected, but you can’t help but have a bad feeling about General Darwin. That last action scene of Bulk raiding Dr. Werner von Kantlove's castle is the best of all time, showcasing how amazing this movie is. The twist that General Darwin was working with Dr. Werner von Kantlove and that Dr. Werner von Kantlove funded the research for the bulk serum was something I never expected in millions of years. That scene of bulk running for miles and miles was so cinematic and gripping. Hank’s fake-out death was yet another twist I did not expect. His plan to propose to Hannah finally paid off, but was cut short by General Darwin. Throwing them off the building was the perfect tragedy to summarize their dynamic. That performance from Shevaun Kastl was breathtaking; you feel what Hannah’s grief is and how alone she is. The tone switches, then goes to Det. Ray Garton cursing out his grave while drunk shows the genre bender that this movie is. Then Bulk unburying himself is the perfect cliffhanger. WE need a bulk 2.
