If we consider that this film isn’t actually faithful as a retelling of a true story, and that as a fictional story it isn’t all that interesting either, then what is really left?
There’s certainly an interesting reflection on how the beauty and meaning of life lie in everyday situations, and in the simple things we inevitably take for granted, but I don’t see much beyond that.
The performances are excellent, both from the two leads and from the supporting cast, but I didn’t like the film very much overall.
