My first introduction to a "film noir crime drama," and it did not disappoint!
Edward G. Robinson plays a genuinely menacing gangster, and I definitely want to see more of his movies. I actually think this is a lesser performance from Humphrey Bogart, but still shows why he's a pillar of that Golden Age of Hollywood.
Plot is a little wonky, gets pretty tiresome towards the end, but overall a solid relic of the time.
