📍march around the world (#9 of 30) - 🇸🇪
roy andersson more like wes anderson !
zero disrespect to roy but this movie felt like it was created by a suicidal wes (affectionate). from the set design to the makeup & costume, everyone is a pale, bleak, pseudo-zombie moving through a picturesque yet grotesque life, with no real purpose and absolutely no zest.
the film plays out like a compilation of existential short essays come to life (and on that note, this is my plea for you to read someone who will love you in all your damaged glory by raphael bob-waksberg). the movie is somehow both full of dread and packed with whimsy and may very well be a total miss with some audiences. a bizarre anthology that mimics the absurdity of our current life. it won’t give you hope but it will make you chuckle.
excited to check out the other two movies in the unofficial trilogy.
