38th Miike Movie 

I’ve been looking for this movie for 2 and a half months. Thankfully I found it but jesus it took ages to find this so my hopes were extremely high but I’m a little dissapointed. 

This is a very cute movie but every single scene just goes on for a little too long and it just makes this an overly long movie which could’ve been really great if it wasn’t for that 2 hour length. 

I enjoyed it, I liked the songs, but I was just really hoping for a lot more here. Very very very impressive set pieces here though I must say. A decent movie but the pacing is just not great. 

I love seeing Emi Takei as a big role though because the only other thing I’ve seen her in is Terraformars and in that movie she gets her neck snapped within the first 15 minutes and then turns into a silk moth at the end and blows up a bunch of mutant cockroaches? (I love that movie secretly) I love seeing her here as a lead role.

a pretty fun Miike musical! loved the first 45mins of this a lot, but unfortunately it begins to drag after that. not to say it isn’t still entertaining, just not as solid as the start. still though, the musical numbers are great! a fun watch overall, but definitely not my favourite from Miike.
