This movie is so stunning, can we bring back technicolor? But it’s very hard to ignore the misogynistic and classist undertones in the film, which some could say might be satire since the characters that speak that part out loud are not intended to be likeable, at least in the beginning, though it also comes from the characterisation of the lower class characters, so if it were intended to be satire they really should’ve taken more care in it. Yes, I understand this was written in the 1950s, but as a modern watcher it sadly doesn’t translate well.
