This movie languidly trudges its way through Roman Polanski's fetishisation of female suffering (among other things), all presented in an even worse way than the book.
Infact, it feels like Polanski just read the cliffnotes version, and instead of improving upon a flawed attempt to understand the social hypocrisy women face, just made a boring, straight-to-video feeling "acclaimed male director" version of the original text.
I guess you cant expect much more from a convicted pedophile; what a waste of three hours.
