Oh you can TELL that Spielberg had no part in this. Frankly, you really can't see anything about this movie that feels even remotely similar to the first. There are some points within this film that legitimately feel like a TV movie. Moving along, I really wanted to enjoy this movie. Occasionally, this film is really good and its horror is great and really well done during certain parts. The biggest help of this is the fact that Screaming Mad George is a part of the crew and it's always nice to see his work as I am a big fan of his. But other than that, the story feels completely lackluster and this script is weirdly racist and stereotypical towards Native Americans. At the end of the day, if you wanted to see Mr. Incredible use the r-slur and be casually racist towards Natives, this is the movie for you.

wheewww what a downgrade in like everything? wasn’t expecting the medium grandma or the Cultist burial ground that somehow related to native americans?? goofy ahh movie. Also what was the message?? It felt like they kept shoehorning random hints at a message but nothing more. Was it about the power of family? becoming a man? religious delusion?

only good parts were the silent scary scenes and the goofy cgi of them flying into another dimension (and the freaky practical effects). the villain was pretty spooky but so underutilized to me?
