Okay I wanted this review to be perfect since from now on a special person has to read them but DAMN! is the only thing I can say for this movie. I guess I'll do a serious review anyway...
I already knew CBGB thanks to the Ramones but not the story. I really liked this movie because it tells the story of the most punk club of all in a very engaging way, not too modified, nor too raw. This story seems to come out of a book, it's exceptional. (and makes me say once again, damn I was born in the wrong decade). I like that they also used original songs (I wonder how much it cost). The cast is good, oh my God as soon as I saw Alan with that hair I laughed for 5 minutes straight. (Kyle Gallner playing Lou Reed? hilarious).
Unfortunately, it's not one of those films that makes you feel involved, but it just tells you the story, you know? Seeing what CBGB looks like today makes my blood boil with rage.
Anyway... I agree with the cow balloon... Hilly should have been the Ramones' manager 😉 like...come on... Dead boys? really? more than a punk message it seemed like a kink. And then they say Pistols are "poser", piss off!!
