the story of grace is gone is very touching and has a lot of really cute and bittersweet moments. the primary fault i noticed more than i would have liked was subpar acting.
john cusack isn’t exactly known for a superior acting style, but i felt like his acting was more bland than usual in this film. the majority of that could be chalked up to his character’s inner emotional turmoil, but i just thought it was lackluster. the actors for cusack’s character’s daughters also gave uninspired performances. i don’t want to be too harsh on them, especially since they are child actors, but it was a mediocre watch experience when the three main characters all offered dull performances.

Morvern Caller for men.
A sappy film that makes the mistake of never showing us the mother so we as the audience can only grieve the Idea of a woman rather than the specific character. Cusack is pretty terrible, in true Steve Carell in Last Flag Flying sad sack mode. I liked Nivola and the two girls a lot.
