The Muppets gather to watch their newly-finished big-budget rich-and-famous feature film: a talent agent persuades Kermit the Frog to leave the swamp to pursue a career in Hollywood. On his way there, he meets a bear, a pig, a whatever (his future muppet crew), and some special celebrity guest stars, while being chased by the desperate owner of a frog-leg restaurant!

Gonzo is a sweetheart.I never grew up with the Muppets. I was always aware of them, and I had seen 'Muppets Christmas Carol' years ago and quite enjoyed it. Recently, I've been going outside my comfort zone, and since my friend touched upon the muppets in one of their radio show, I remembered that many people over the years have told me to watch this. This was great!
The humor works so well for me, and I'm actually mad at myself for not watching this when I was younger. There are so many great running gags, hilarious cameos from comedians like Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, or Mel Brooks, alongside an Orson Welles performance that rivals Citizen Kane.
This movie is simple, yet effective. It's a fairly tight story that builds up to a satisfying payoff. The songs are catchy as hell, the muppet themsleves are fun and play off each other well, and the comedic timing is so well-planned that I bet there is stuff that I didn't catch on a first watch.
I'm now curious to check out more Muppets stuff.
