Day 121/365 ** Shine on, you crazy diamond. ** First documentary of this challenge. Beautiful and tragic story of one of the founders of one of my favorite bands. A pure soul crushed by the weight of being a star and having to battle his own psyche and use of LSD.

This was so freaking tragic and depressing. Syd Barrett is a name that is treated with such reverence in the world of music that I surround myself with yet I knew next to nothing about him besides the fact that he was a recluse.
I loved the testimonials from the people that knew him best and the fact that this focuses on the man rather than the music of the man.
This film was made even more poignant and depressing due to the in memoriam section at the end where over 10 of the interviewees had since died in the brief period of time between which this film was made and released.
