I had been waiting for this one for nearly a month since I heard it was coming onto Tubi today, since there's no way I'm renting this shit. The CGI was horrible, even by 2004 standards. It also has a way cheaper feel than the original, probably because the original cost 45 million, and this only cost 25 million. I also wish the anacondas got more screen time, since, despite the title being named after them, they are surprisingly barely even in the movie. The plot is also horrible, and all the characters were broad archetypes. Even after all of these complaints, I didn't hate it for some reason. I think it's a step up from the original somehow, though; that's not a hard bar to fill. I was expecting a lot worse. Overall, it's not a masterpiece, and it knows that, and it has some fun with itself with some surprisingly good scenes. PS, the monkey was cute.
