I wish Kojima would scan my feet and balls

Watched this after just finishing Death Stranding Director's Cut. Loved seeing some of the behind-the-scenes of the game, very similar to Hideo Kojima's Gene and many Avatar docs in that way. The animated segments were cute. Loved hearing the thoughts from the cast and crew, particularly Yoji Shinkawa, Norman Reedus, Guillermo Del Toro and George Miller.

On the game:
Loneliness has probably been the greatest contributor of pain in my life and I'm glad Death Stranding could help me process some of my thoughts about it. I love the feeling that there's always someone there for you, that if you're stuck you can always scan for a ladder, a bike or a generator. In many ways I wish I could feel more like that in life, because even though I know there are people around who want my wellness it doesn't always feel like I can or should be helped. There's also an uncomfortably weak gravity from not feeling the weight of any persistent friendship or connection. Talking with friends is typically the highlight of my day but when its over and you see no one with your eyes but yourself it becomes easy to forget there are people who think about you.

Death Stranding was more than I could've possibly imagined and I'm very pleased that Kojima could fulfill my expectations from playing through the entire Metal Gear Solid series. Some of the most unique story, characters and gameplay I've felt, a whole world (like described in the doc) that feels so good to live in. I wish I made use of the camera features through more of my playthrough than the last 10 or so hours when I remembered it, its almost too breathtaking when you hike over a mountain and Low Roar starts to play. The ball really starts rolling in Episode 3 and I loved as it rolled faster all the way through to the end. Not going to get into spoilers but the way the story evolved and twisted made for such a great experience that I wish it lasted twice as long, even though it was already a 52 hour long game. I don't want to compare this to Metal Gear and say one is better than the other because I love them both. Just gets me even more excited for getting announcements about Physint and how its ideas might be a merging of those two worlds, but it seems we may be waiting until 2031 for that. At least I have a copy of Death Stranding 2 to finish before then! (PC players I feel bad for you right now...)
