Simple but devastating, The Goddess has completely changed my mind on silent films. Despite the lack of dialogue, the acting overall conveys exactly what is going on without feeling over-the-top. Ruan Lingyu was so gorgeous and expressive and elegant, and I can't lie, I cried several times watching her performance.
