The tale of a couple trying to reengage together emotionally, deeply and all the way within.
Seagrass is thoughtfully created by Meredith, reflecting to us the audience how deep within the society the Asian racism is, the connection of our own roots of our culture and the belonging to one's communities, also the fact of its own difference. Between the Japanese and Chinese heritages, how differently questions were made to their respective families and how culture intertwines all of us.
As a consequence, I loved the heritage this film builds, how important it is for relationships to be bonded and how one understands the meanings of our family past without being ashamed of the activities that are historically attached to us and to our families.
Due to that, I firmly believe this film has a lot of meaning with all the backstory of not holding a relationship with a thread that's bound to break.
Meredith by the way, a stunning director, so lovely and approachable, you could ask her whatever you wished without any regret or remorse.
Felt like the cast was on spot on, accurately describing all the things that are being kept off from the other partner and just how sometimes it just doesn't click.
All in all, Seagrass was meaningful and did cause an impact on me, was my last watch on this film festival and what a one
