Christopher Reeve portrayed the Man of Steel in four Superman films and played dozens of other roles that displayed his talent and range as an actor, before being injured in a near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. After becoming a quadriplegic, he became a charismatic leader and activist in the quest to find a cure for spinal cord injuries, as well as a passionate advocate for disability rights and care.

Christopher Reeve was and always will be Superman, no doubt about it. This guy brought so much hope and inspiration to the world; he really shows us what we should strive for as humans. Reeve totally embodies everything Superman stands for. Life can be so fragile, and just a tiny slip can change everything for someone. It’s really amazing how much he accomplished despite his challenges.
Honestly, I cried watching this! I just saw it tonight, and it really touched me. The documentary is beautifully made, and I can’t say enough great things about it. I was also surprised to see how much Robin Williams was involved and how good of a friend he was to Reeve. Even while dealing with his own struggles, Robin always found a way to lift Reeve’s spirits and make him smile. Listening to stories about their friendship and how they always supported each other is really touching.
Overall, I really loved the film! I totally get why a lot of people see him as SUPERMAN. I'm 25, so the Supermans I grew up with and look up to are Tom Welling and Tyler Hoechlin. Despite their incredible performances as the character, it’s evident that Christopher Reeve serves as the foundation for how Superman/Clark Kent should be portrayed. I’m so pleased that Gunn and Safran acquired this documentary; I appreciate how it tells the story of Christopher and highlights how remarkable he was both on and off the screen. This is definitely a strong contender for Best Documentary at the Oscars.
