10/10 this was unreal. So incredibly happy this was my first Scorsese. I knew there was a plot twist i this movie but I still didn’t expect it to be this insane. I didn’t see any hints at all that this would happen. But man Scorsese just played this out so well and it all started to make sense in a way. Leo just acts his ass off in this role and man so does his counterpart in the movie Mark Ruffalo. I bet John Carrol Lynch is a great guy but when I see him in movies he is so damn unsettling. Like I just have the feeling he’s lying his ass off the whole time he talks. Probably because I’ve only seen him in Zodiac and this but dude just creeps me out. So many beautiful shots and such well written dialogue. I want to make this review short because I honestly don’t think I should make a spoiler review on this movie because you need to watch this movie without spoilers. Man it’s just such a treat to watch this and this was an amazing introduction for me to Scorsese.

The last 30 minutes are really really good, the beginning and middle are very dragged out and long. Yeah I know there’s a bunch of small details hidden within that can tell that the protagonist is crazy and we are supposed to be like aha but I’m too dumb for that shit. The first hour and a half is quite a drag though, I struggled to stay into the story but the ending was gripping. I might rewatch this sometime down the road in the future.
