A heist movie? Hell yeah.
This was a really fun watch, and honestly, seeing Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Marlon Brando together already makes it worth it. That alone carries a lot of weight.
Technically, it’s solid. The soundtrack works well, the camera work is clean, and it has that early 2000s look that I personally love, that slightly muted filter that just fits this kind of story perfectly.
Performance-wise, it’s hard to pick a standout between De Niro and Norton. They’re both great, in very different ways, but they balance each other really well. De Niro brings that classic controlled presence, while Norton feels more unpredictable and energetic. Marlon Brando and Angela Bassett are a great addition to the cast.
The story works. I like that it’s set in Canada, it gives it a slightly fresher vibe compared to the usual locations. Both the opening heist and the main job are really well done, with just the right amount of things going wrong to keep it tense. The park sequence is easily one of the highlights.
It’s a solid heist film with good performances, some humor, and a finale that delivers. Just a really enjoyable ride overall.
