if you're going to follow the heat formula, you have to have a good cat and a good mouse.

pacino and de niro is the pinnacle. affleck/renner vs jon hamm in the town. jeff bridges vs chris pine in hell or high water. schrieber and a hilarious gerard butler in den of thieves. in all of these movies both sides have depth and are incredibly compelling characters.

in this mess the cops are so fucking boring and one dimensional. they try to add a little bit of the pacino daughter thing for the main cop and it falls completely flat. the other cops are stones.

the brother dynamic is fine but the motivation for clayne crawforda character doesnt feel genuine. the side characters all suck.

some decent shoot out scenes but nothing special. i was excited for this bc i like the actors who play the brothers but this sucked
