i finished reading this book about 2 weeks ago and loved it. When going into this movie I was comparing it to the book and it was starting to annoy me how many things were being left out. However, if you watch this through the lens's of a very loosely based adaption of the book and just a movie of its own, then it’s pretty captivating.

I wish that they would make a direct adaption of the book. Please give the people what they want!

“You're sure you're feeling well? Or perhaps you just need a bit of sunshine.”

if i didn’t know about the book i wouldn’t have guessed this was a film about vampires, it’s beautiful cinematography wise but falls flat as even a queer romance story let alone as a gothic
