Digital Video Editing

George Méliés’ 1899 adaptation of the famous story of Cinderella. Knowing the story, I think it made it more enjoyable than Méliés’ famous A Trip to the Moon. With no verbal communication, we still understand that’s she’s an outcast until she’s swept off her feet by the prince. Just wild to see that we went from this, to Disney’s animated film, to a Lily James’ starred live action adaptation.

Is it wrong to give Méliès five stars for pioneering so much? I don't think so. This is an adaptation of the Cinderella story, the first fairy tale to be adapted to film, and had a dissolve transition - also the first one. Méliès was just incomparable in this time period, able to tell stories so well and so vividly in such short times. He is to film what, say, Jim Creighton is to baseball.
