Fathers Day Watch 2026

For me, anytime I get to watch a movie with my father that he remembered watching countless times as a child, I’m always on board. Now the history teacher takes us to the pacific theater with another grand war epic led by Henry Fonda, Toshiro Mifune & Charlton Heston

For anyone who loved 70s and 80s TV, this is the movie for you. Cliff Robertson, Robert Wagner, Robert Webber, Tom Selleck and Erik Estrada? Let alone side characters by Hal Holbrook, James Coburn, Pat Morita, Robert Mitchum. Even Mr. Takagi from Nakatomi Tower makes an appearance.

Plenty of great aerial sequences and battle scenes however some dull dialogue and a drawn out 1st half leaves this right in the middle of the pack for me.

Still very enjoyable and even the half assed commentary on internment camps was nice to see for the time.
