Although the film moves at a slow pace, it never feels boring and unfolds very naturally. At times, it leans a little too heavily on extracting drama from every detail, which can feel slightly cliché, but that excess almost feels necessary without it, the film couldn’t have reached such a quietly beautiful and devastating ending. The humour is dark and uncomfortable, sliding in so naturally that you almost laugh before realising how bleak everything actually is. I want to give this a 5/5, but there’s something (I can’t quite put my finger on it) that felt slightly missing for me.
