This film is flawed. It's completely unnecessary to the Lion King lore (yeah lets go with that), it has less reason to exist than the second film and SOME of the jokes just aren't funny. But this film has such a beautiful heart to it. Everyone involved clearly had such a fun time and just loved the characters. from the voice actors, to the animators, to the writers they gave it their all for this Lion King prequel/mid-quel/sequel. Timon's story is surprisingly engaging with shockingly great emotional moments. But even more than that, this is the funniest shit ever. Like bro when Pumba sits on the remote and says "sorry I thought it was a brownie" 10/10. It has at least 50 other moments like this too I won't even lie. And on top of that the few original songs are all bangers. I love dig a tunnel and that's all i need. I love this film to death. Am i probably biased, yeah most likely. I watched this film 10 times on repeat as a child in a singular car ride. So yeah I know this film like the back of my hand. It's still the GOAT I don't care what anyone else says. Also random final thought but Matthew Broderick's voice acting improved so much from the first movie to this one so good for him.
