I think this was Fallon’s only good movie, which isn’t saying much, and that’s if you don’t count Barrymore’s “Whip It”. It’s surprisingly well-paced for the kind of movie it is. For being about the Boston Red Sox, it doesn’t feel like a Boston movie, but a New Yorker movie which makes me wonder what could’ve been if it was any other team could the idea of this movie work. A Rom com that meets baseball. If you aren’t a sports fan you may not be able to relate to jimmy fallon in this one. But there is a romance to the game of baseball and having his love for baseball and his woman come into his life and him trying to work it out between the two. Really good stuff.
