One of my favorite aspects of this movie is the way it was shot, the shots were not only well framed but at the same time done from fairly intresting angles. I especially loved how the car scenes were only shot from inside the car and only pointed in directions were the main character was looking which made those scenes so much more immersive.
The score was pretty great all around however the very first scenes in the beginning it felt the score wasnt needed and more distracting than anything, I would have prefer the opening without any music. Besides that the score was used appropriatly and added suspense in the more tension filled scenes. Not to mention that the music piece its self is very well composed and enjoyable to just listen to casualy while studying or something.
I love the choice of not being on the nose or obvious about curtiant plot elements and out right explaining things to the audiance, for example that british guy in the bar asking where Adam Lang lives is a huge recurring plot element that the viewer has to pay attention to and piece together. Im not denying that the movie is explaining curtiant plot elements but those elements are pretty much needed to be explained since its about the main character learning new things about the mystery that he is unraveling which are revealed from a character, clues or the internet.
One of my favorite endings to a movie ever aswell. The acting performances were very belivable. I think this a very underrated and overlooked film and would maybe even be my favorite Polanski film. I do also recognize that Polanski is a awful person who should die but personally I can still enjoy his movies.
