my originally rate was 4 stars because the ending felt lacking to me, but when I read Carl’s interview and found out it was based on his own story—I was flabbergasted. like, putangina.. deserve nito ng 5 stars. I love how it was created, like girl, ’di ako makapaniwala in everything.
the idea of him using rotoscoping style in animation does actually make sense. it symbolizes the confusion whether it was real or not, which is how we also question Eric’s mental state. yung representation ng mga aliens and how it is impossible to see or to happen—parang ganun yung situation ni Eric e.. especially he’s a man; Men’s Mental health. parang it is impossible to happen to them. like, when they tell to anyone, people might say na they’re just hallucinating.. or maybe they are just faking it. baka walang maniwala when they speak up. kumbaga, victim blaming ang mangyari.
I really love how very creative Carl is. I love how he connected every piece—not only from his own experience, but also someone’s. putangina, basta sobrang galing talaga!! sobrang hirap kaya mag-connect-connect nd magsulat ng story knowing na it was a traumatic experience. tsaka isa pa, I love the idea na he drew the backstory like how a child would draw it. sobrang unique ng ideas.
yung about naman sa queerness, woahhh!! proud na proud ako na he made the characters so open about it—hindi na need mag-come out. walang confused. hindi masakit, kundi happy ending lang. walang religious-related topics. even homophobic, WALAAAA! pinapakita talaga na normal, AS A WHOLE. NA IT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED OF.
tang ina, sana mamatay na lahat ng mga aliens! **SANA MAY CHANCE NA MABALIK ANG MGA NAKUHA NILA SA ATIN. i hope we choose to speak up. at sana mayroong tao na tulad ni carlo para intindihin at pakinggan tayo.

tsaka sana sumikat ’tong film na ’to! SANA SUMIKAT SI CARL PAPA! ang astjg niyaaaa puteeekssss !!!
